Arab Parliament congratulates GCC leaders on the Council's 40th anniversary

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament has congratulated the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members states on the occasion of the councils’ 40th anniversary, which falls on May 25, 1981, commending the relentless efforts of the heads of the member states in the service of their countries and people.

In a statement on Tuesday, Adel Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi said that the GCC has acted as an incubator of the joint Gulf political action, that was able to unite the member states in the face of crises gripping the region, adding that the progress in many areas of cooperation and integration achieved by the member states has met the aspirations of the people of the Gulf countries.

The Arab Parliament Speaker praised the unprecedented and pivotal achievements that the GCC continues to make by implementing directives of the leaders of the member states.

He also lauded the Council’s keenness to push the march of joint Gulf action toward broader horizons in a way that enhances its cohesion and achieves more progress and gains for the benefit of the citizens of the GCC countries.
