Bahrain foreign minister holds talks with Indian counterpart over phone, offers coronavirus aid

MANAMA — Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al-Zayani held a phone call on Wednesday with his Indian counterpart Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. the Bahrain News Agency reported.

They discussed the strong relations between the two countries and ways to promote bilateral cooperation in all areas in the service of mutual interest of the two friendly countries and people.

Al-Zayani expressed Bahrain's solidarity with India and its friendly people in their great loss of human life as a result of the repercussions of COVID-19, stressing Bahrain's interest and keenness to support the Indian government's efforts to confront the pandemic.

The Bahraini foreign minister also expressed the condolences and sympathy of the leadership and people of Bahrain to the government of India and its people who were affected by the cyclone that struck the western regions of the country, and caused a devastating loss of lives and property, wishing them further security, stability and prosperity.

Jaishankar expressed the Indian government's thanks and appreciation for Bahrain for its honorable stances and the support it has provided to India to face the repercussions of the pandemic, praising the solid relations and continuous cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity. — SG
