Prince Badr meets with Greek president, seeks to boost cultural cooperation

ATHENS — Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan met here on Tuesday with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on the first day of his two-day official visit to southwest European country.

During the meeting, Prince Badr conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to the Greek president, highlighting the distinguished historical relations between the two countries dating back to 1926.

He affirmed that the Saudi culture ministry is keen on cooperating with its counterpart in Greece to work on an intensive cultural program over the next two years, through which the focus will be on creating quality opportunities that achieve the desired impact of this cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Greece Dr. Saad Bin Abdulrahman Al-Ammar, and Supervisor General of the Cultural Affairs and International Relations Rakan Al-Toq.

The meeting comes within the official visit of the culture minister to Greece, which aims to lay the foundation for a new phase of the cultural cooperation between the two countries, and includes meetings with Greek officials, as well as a number of meetings, tours, and visits to famous cultural and heritage landmarks in Greece such as the Acropolis Museum and the National Gallery. — SG
