Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — All travelers — residents and visitors — who have passed 14 days after completing their doses of vaccines approved in Saudi Arabia do not need to quarantine themselves upon arrival in the Kingdom, clarified the Saudi National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Weqaya) on Sunday.

However, all those over the age of 8 need to submit a PCR COVID-19 test negative report for a sample taken not more than 72 hours before their scheduled departure for the Kingdom, starting from May 20.

The clarification from Weqaya comes as Saudi Arabia prepares to resume international travel on Monday (May 17). However, the move excludes the 20 countries where the ban on flights continues as part of preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Weqaya also said institutional quarantine measures will be applied to non-Saudis who have not completed their vaccine doses approved in the Kingdom, according to what was announced by the Saudi Ministry of Interior.

The concerned authorities will allow only those citizens to travel who have received one or two doses of the coronavirus vaccine and those who have recovered from the virus and those under the age of 18 years.

Additionally, it is required to present an insurance policy approved by the Saudi Central Bank, covering the risks of contracting the coronavirus infection outside the Kingdom for travelers less than 18 years old.
