Probe into citizen’s damaging of public property and posting on social media

RIYADH — A citizen has been accused of damaging public property and posted its footage on social media. The Public Prosecution has started an investigation into the incident, according to an official source at the Public Prosecution.

The citizen, named only Sultan, is accused of destroying public property and writing on the walls of buildings in offensive terms, and posting this on social media.

The Public Prosecution has started a probe into the act after considering this as an offense under the Public Property Protection Law and the Anti-Cyber Crime Law.

The Public Prosecution had found a number of criminal cases against the accused and these included immoral acts and had been detained until completion of the investigation procedures against him.

A criminal case against him was referred to the competent court pertaining to these immoral acts, the source added.
