MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, represented by the Department of Environmental Protection and Epidemic Control, has intensified disinfection operations at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The drive has seen the Presidency use 10,000 liters of environmentally friendly detergents to sterilize and create an environment free of epidemics.

The Director of the Environmental Protection and Epidemic Control Department Hassan Al-Suwairi said that more than 70 field teams work around the clock to sterilize the Grand Mosque and its facilities.

The conduct this by using up-to-date techniques of sterilization and disinfection to ensure the safety of the Grand Mosque’s visitors.

He added that the more than 500 automatic hand sterilizers and 70 monitoring thermal cameras were provided in different locations, in addition to distributing facemasks. — SPA
