RIYADH —
The Arab Coalition intercepted and destroyed five ballistic missiles and four explosive-laden drones launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia’s Jazan late Wednesday and early Thursday, the coalition said in a statement.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said the continued attacks are part of the Houthi militia’s systematic and deliberate hostile attempts to target civilians in the Kingdom.

The coalition affirmed that it will take all necessary measures to protect civilians in accordance with international humanitarian laws.

The Houthi militia has recently stepped up attacks, targeting civilians and civilian facilities in a number of Saudi cities and regions, ignoring repeated Saudi calls for a comprehensive ceasefire in order to restore security and stability in Yemen.
