Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council's economic committee holds first meeting

JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, who is also the acting minister for economy and planning, and his Bahraini counterpart, Shaikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, co-chaired on Tuesday the first meeting of the Economy, Energy, Trade and Industry Coordination Committee of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, the Bahrain News Agency reported.

The panel is one of the five committees emanating from the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, which is chaired by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and his Bahraini counterpart, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the main initiatives and recommendations on which the committee agreed, as well as their implementation mechanisms. The initiatives cover many fields and sectors, such as trade, industry and energy, in addition to enhancing technical and technological cooperation, as well as the exchange of expertise in various fields.

They also called on the work teams to double their efforts in order to achieve the aspirations of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council for more economic complementarity between the two countries. — SG
