With 951 new cases, total coronavirus infections in Saudi Arabia top 400,000

RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia surged to 951 over the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

Recently, the Kingdom has been witnessing a steady increase in the number of daily infections.

The health ministry announced eight more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 400,228 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,773.

The ministry also reported 608 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 384,635.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 389 followed by the Makkah region with 212 and the Eastern region with 144 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 8,820 active cases and 962 of them were in critical condition.
