Border Guards in Jeddah, Rabigh foil attempt to smuggle 245.7kg of heroin

RIYADH — Border Guards patrols teams in Jeddah and Rabigh in the Makkah region on Friday foiled an attempt to smuggle 245.7 kilograms of heroin, the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting Border Guards spokesperson Col. Misfer Bin Ghannam Al-Quraini.

The spokesman said 24.5 kilograms of heroin were seized in Rabigh, while 211.2 kilograms were seized in Jeddah.

Al-Quraini added that the seized drugs have been handed over to the “concerned authority and routine procedures have been completed.

The spokesman stressed that the Border Guards will continue to firmly and resolutely confront all smuggling attempts. — SG
