RIYADH – The security authorities in the Kingdom are dealing with drugs firmly, as this scourge is one of the most dangerous tools for targeting society, Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, asserted on Sunday.
In a series of tweets on his Twitter account, he said: “The security authorities and their partners are firmly fighting drugs, and it has been confirmed by our belief that targeting society with this scourge is one of the most dangerous tools for targeting a society.
“We continue to advice the leadership to combat this dangerous scourge in order to protect society and our youth.”
"In just three months, the competent authorities were able to control and thwart the smuggling of over 90 million amphetamine pills, 7.9 tons of hashish and 5.5 kilograms of cocaine," he added.
"The continuous coordination and foreign cooperation with the brotherly and friendly countries also results in preemptive operations that thwart the smuggling of these toxins," he said.
The Minister of Interior concluded his tweets by saying: “The society’s awareness on the danger of this scourge has contributed to the resilience in the face of its threat and its tragedies.
“As a result, the society has formed an impregnable bulwark against those who target our security and stability.”
