Saudi Arabia: Jordan’s stability is basis for region’s stability and prosperity

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands by the Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein and Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II.

He affirmed in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to offer unlimited support for everything that strengthens the solid fraternal relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and serves their common interests.

He said that the Kingdom’s support for Jordan is permanent and constant in all times and circumstances and in various political, security, economic and development fields.

Prince Faisal praised the wise leadership that King Abdullah II attaches to the economic process and the comprehensive development renaissance in Jordan, in a manner that would benefit the good and well-being of the Jordanian people.

He added that Jordan’s stability and prosperity is the basis for stability and prosperity for the entire region.

In Manama, Bahrain King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa made a phone call Sunday to King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the telephone conversation, Bahraini King Hamad affirmed Bahrain's full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its support for all decisions and measures taken by King Abdullah II to preserve the security and stability of Jordan and safeguard its gains against any attempt to undermine them.

The United Kingdom too announced its solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan against any events that could destabilize the country.

In a statement issued Sunday, Minister for Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office James Cleverly affirmed that the UK is closely following the events in Jordan.

He added that "the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a very important partner for the UK", asserting the UK's full support for King Abdullah II of Jordan. — SPA
