New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia drop below 700

RIYADH —
Single-day coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia dropped to 684 on Saturday from the high figure of 728 on Friday, marking a dip in the number of infections in the Kingdom, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The Health Ministry announced six more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 392,009 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,690.

The ministry also reported 439 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 379,312.

The number of infections topped 300 in the Riyadh region for the second time in two days with 320 new infections recorded on Saturday.

The capital region was followed by the Makkah region with 131 cases and the Eastern region with 98 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with only four of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 6,007active cases and 761 of them were in critical condition.
