Riyadh emir emphasizes use of QR codes to monitor market crowd, orders arrest of quarantine violators

RIYADH — The Emir of Riyadh Prince Faisal Bin Bandar has issued directives to arrest quarantine violators with the help of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

In a related development, the Riyadh emir asserted specifying the capacity for letting shoppers into commercial facilities, such as markets and malls, using QR codes to monitor the crowd.

The operation room report on the follow-up of the implementation of precautionary measures and all health protocols at Riyadh Emir’s Office showed that over 11,000 violations of the precautionary measures against COVID-19 were detected.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Emir of Riyadh affirmed that all pertinent government agencies must intensify monitoring of areas under their jurisdiction, ensure implementation of precautionary measures including activation of the Tawakkalna app, as well as monitoring violators, and submitting detailed reports on the results of the functions of the joint operations room.

Prince Faisal made the remarks after reading the report on the violations of precautionary measures.
