Saudi leaders wish Pakistan president speedy recovery from coronavirus

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent cables to Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi who is reported to have contracted coronavirus infection.

In their messages, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince have wished the Pakistani president good health, happiness, and a speedy recovery.

President Alvi contracted the infection days after Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife tested positive for the deadly virus.

On Monday, President Alvi tweeted that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

"I have tested positive for COVID-19. May Allah have mercy on all COVID-affected. Had the first dose of the vaccine but antibodies started developing after the second dose that was due in a week. Please continue to be careful," the president said.

The exact date when President Alvi, 71, contracted the disease or the day of detection has not been made public.
