RIYADH — The first meeting of the Saudi-Qatari follow-up committee kicked off at the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh on Wednesday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political and Economic Affairs Ambassador Eid Al-Thaqafi and Ambassador Ali Al-Hajri, the head of the Qatari delegation.

The committee’s meetings came in implementation of the will of the leaderships of both the countries in accordance with the AlUla Declaration that was signed with Qatar during the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit held in Al-Ula on Jan. 5 this year. The declaration reflects the embodiment of restoring fraternal ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs Walid Al-Khuraiji received Head of the Qatari delegation Ambassador Ali Al-Hajri here on the sidelines of the committee meeting.
