Crown Prince, Russian president discuss ‘green initiatives' in phone call

RIYADH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, made a phone call on Thursday to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the conversation, they reviewed Saudi Arabia’s “green initiatives”, which aim to raise vegetation cover and enhance the efficiency of oil production, as a contribution toward reducing global carbon emissions in order to face environmental challenges.

The Russian President welcomed the initiatives, affirming support for the Kingdom's efforts to achieve its objectives.


According to a statement from the Kremlin, both leaders also reviewed bilateral cooperation on current issues.

Putin noted the relevance of such initiatives and spoke about Russia's environmental efforts.
