Arab Coalition intercepts ballistic missile targeting civilians in Yemen’s Ma’rib

April 01, 2021

RIYADH — The Arab Coalition on Thursday intercepted a ballistic missile targeting civilians in Yemen’s Ma’rib, Al-Ekhbariya TV reported.

In a statement, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said that the missile launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia posed a threat to the lives of millions of civilians.

The ballistic missile and the launching pad belonging to the militia were destroyed in response, the statement added.

It is noteworthy that in February the Houthi militia launched one of the fiercest attacks on the Ma’rib governorate but it failed to make any headway amid an intense resistance from local tribes and legitimate forces.

The United Nations and the international community has warned of the danger of these attacks pose to civilians and thousands of displaced people. — Agencies
