Iraq PM arrives in Riyadh on official visit

RIYADH — Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday as part of his official visit to Saudi Arabia.

The Iraqi premier was given a 21-gun salute as he descended from his plane at King Khalid International Airport here.

Al-Kadhimi was received by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, at the airport.

The Crown Prince also welcomed the official delegation accompanying the Iraqi prime minister.

The visiting dignitary attended an official reception ceremony in which national anthems of the two countries were played, then he received a guard of honor.

The Iraqi premier
exchanged greetings with Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal Bin Bandar and other senior Saudi officials.

The Crown Prince and the Iraqi premier left the airport in an official motorcade for the Royal Court at Al-Yamamah Palace.
