Over 100 volunteers serve worshipers at Grand Mosque

MAKKAH — The Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has attracted volunteers and volunteer organizations, to provide services to worshipers and visitors of the Grand Mosque.

The total number of volunteers per day reached 132 volunteers with 568 volunteering hours, as this comes as a part of the Presidency’s efforts to promote the culture of volunteer work, improve its effectiveness and increase volunteer opportunities by adopting latest methods and best practices in order to encourage volunteer work.

The Presidency said that the volunteer work throughout the Grand Mosque included providing assistance to elderly people, monitoring thermal cameras at gates and maintaining social distancing between worshipers, according to preventive and precautionary measures to ensure visitors and Umrah performers' health and safety. — SPA
