RIYADH — Sites allocated for children's games in all restaurants will continue to be closed until further notice, except for gaming sites in restaurants designated for recreational purposes, where games are a major and essential activity in providing their services, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing confirmed on Sunday.

The ministry explained that exempting restaurants of entertainment nature is due to the operational requirements previously implemented on them.

These are related to their areas that allow the implementation of mandatory social distancing, in line with the precautionary measures in force to protect customers from the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The ministry stated that restaurants designed to provide entertainment services and games and were scheduled to return to normal activity on Sunday, will be subject to all preventive and precautionary measures applied to other facilities belonging to the municipalities, in terms of reducing the capacity, constantly sterilizing the games, and preventing congestions and crowding within the range of restaurants and recreation games affiliated to them.
