RIYADH —
The Arab Coalition forces on Friday intercepted and destroyed six explosive-laden drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, according to the official spokesman of the coalition Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki.

The drone attacks targeted civilians and civilian facilities in the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, the coalition spokesman said: “The coalition forces have intercepted and destroyed this morning (Friday) bomb-laden drones launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian facilities in Khamis Mushait.”

Brig. Gen. Al-Maliki also said the forces on Friday intercepted and destroyed six armed drones, stressing that all attacks target civilians and civilian facilities in a deliberate and systematic manner. He added these terrorist acts amount to war crimes.

“The coalition forces will continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians and civilian objects in accordance with the International humanitarian law,” the spokesman warned.
