Bahrain, India discuss ways to boost cooperation

MANAMA — Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani met here on Wednesday India's Ambassador to Bahrain Piyush Srivastava.

In the meeting, they discussed the course of friendly relations between Bahrain and India, and ways to promote cooperation to meet common aspirations, the Bahrain News Agency reported.

The meeting also reviewed topics of shared interest, primarily ways to bolster cooperation and coordination to face the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.

In November 2020, the Bahrain foreign minister met with his Indian counterpart Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who was on an official visit to the kingdom.

During the meeting, both ministers commended close bilateral relations based on foundations of mutual respect and joint coordination and they sought to enhance bilateral cooperation with New Delhi in various fields. — SG
