Shoura Council reiterates rejection of US report on Khashoggi murder

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia's Shoura Council strongly reiterated its rejection and disapproval of a report that the US Congress was recently provided with on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi citizen, and the offensive conclusions and incorrect information contained in it while referring to the Kingdom's leadership, saying it would never be accepted by any means whatsoever.

The Shoura Council made the statement at the outset of the 20th session of the 1st year of the 8th convocation that virtually took place on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Shoura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

In its statement issued by Secretary-General Mohammed bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi, the Shoura Council expressed its utmost dissatisfaction over the issuance of the unjustified report bereft of any facts or realities. The statement pointed out that the Kingdom has timely denounced that horrendous crime, confirming that it has taken required procedures in its regard.

The Shoura Council said in its statement that it condemns all forms of transgression on the rights of individuals as well as entities, it similarly decisively rejects any prejudice against the sovereignty of states and their rights or exploiting their issues and politically employing them, reasserting that relations among states shall be built on non-interference in the internal affairs of each other.

The council stressed that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman is proceeding on a straight path based on the principles that preserve the value of the human being and his dignity while exerting all efforts at all levels, regionally as well as internationally, to consolidate the concepts of justice, human rights, moderation, and mediocrity, The Kingdom is also striving to protect the humanity, combat extremism, hatred and terrorism and seeks to bring about stability and peace to the world.

The Shoura Council hailed the just and independent judiciary the Kingdom entertains as well as regulations that respect the rights of an individual and guarantee his protection, supporting the foreign ministry's statement and reiterating its support for all measures that the Kingdom may take to maintain its rights and gains.

The statement concluded that the Kingdom, under its wise leadership, will continue on the path of reform, progress, and realization of its ambitious 2030 Vision, led by the Crown Prince to reach advanced ranks among the world nations and that the Shoura will Council will continue to back actions of the leadership and the ambitions of its citizens.
