Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health on Thursday recommended that people who have already recovered from COVID-19 receive a single vaccine dose.

According to the health ministry, the National Scientific Committee for Infectious Diseases has decided that one COVID-19 vaccine dose should be sufficient for those who have previously been infected with the coronavirus.

The dose would be administered six months after their recovery from coronavirus, and would be considered a booster for their immunity and their health status in the Tawakkalna application will be immune (recovered) during the six month period after the recovery.

the health ministry added.

According to experts, people who have already been infected with COVID-19 develop an immune response similar to that bestowed by a vaccine dose, and that a single dose after infection would likely suffice.
