Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia stay below 350

RIYADH — Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia dipped below the 350-mark for the second straight day after staying above it for five consecutive days, with 322 new infections reported on Sunday.

The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight rise in the new cases with just four fatalities reported on Sunday, according to the Health Ministry's statement.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 372,732 and fatalities to 6,433 respectively.

The ministry also reported 282 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 363,585.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 167 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 64 and the Makkah region with 40 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,714 out of which 459 were critical.
