Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia drop slightly below 350

Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia dipped below the 350-mark for the first day after staying above it for five consecutive days, with 337 new infections reported on Saturday.

The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight rise in the new cases with just four fatalities reported on Saturday, according to the Health Ministry's statement.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 372,410 and fatalities to 6,428 respectively.

The ministry also reported 356 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 363,303.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 161 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 72 and the Makkah region with 46 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,679 out of which 456 were critical.
