Al-Aqran named as president of SPA

RIYADH — Fahad Al-Aqran has been named as the new president of the Saudi Press Agency, the official news agency of Saudi Arabia.

In an executive decision, Acting Minister of Media Majid Al-Qasabi, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the SPA, appointed Al Aqran on Monday, a member of SPA's Board of Directors, to serve as the head of the news agency.

Al-Aqran headed the executive committee at SPA, which laid out the agency's development plan to cope with the Kingdom Vision 2030.

In addition to the membership of SPA board, Al Aqran has also been working as the editor-in-chief of Al-Madinah newspaper since 2002, as well as being a member of Al Madina Establishment for Press and Publishing Board of Directors.
