Saudi Arabia, France seek to boost collaboration in technology sector

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha held a meeting here on Thursday with the French ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ludovic Pouille.

During the meeting, they sought to enhance bilateral collaboration in the field of the digital economy, as well as to exchange experiences in the fields of digital technology and entertainment.

Al-Swaha highlighted Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure that supports megaprojects, the presence of a supportive digital legal framework, in addition to the national cadres with a high degree of professionalism, which has contributed to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.

He added that Saudi Arabia works on developing capabilities and capacities in the telecommunications and information technology sector by increasing Saudi national cadres and raising women's participation.

They also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s efforts aiming at stimulating innovation and investment in the technology sector, as well as investment opportunities for French technology companies in the Saudi telecommunications and information technology sector.
