MAKKAH — The coronavirus vaccination center in Makkah will be opened this week, Okaz/Saudi Gazette has learnt from well-informed sources.

All preparations are nearing completion at King Abdullah Medical City (KMAC) in Makkah to open the Kingdom’s fifth COVID-19 vaccination center.

Vaccination centers have already opened in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah.

The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah has completed a large percentage of the preparations to open the vaccination center at KAMC, the sources confirmed.

“Many pavilions have been allocated and supplied with necessary equipment to function as vaccination centers as well as to handle emergency cases.

“Refrigerators for storing and preserving the vaccine have also been equipped and became operational,” the sources said, adding that the center will be opened within a couple of days, most probably this week itself.
