Allies condemn launch of military projectile by Houthis injuring civilians in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH — The launch of a military projectile by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on a village in Jazan, injuring three civilians, has strongly been denounced by Saudi Arabia’s allies.

In a statement, Bahrain’s foreign ministry condemned the attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry stressed Bahrain’s unwavering stance in solidarity with Saudi Arabia against all attempts that aim to undermine its security and stability, reiterating its call on the international community to shoulder its responsibility in condemning criminal terrorist acts carried out by the Yemeni Houthi militia which threaten security and stability in the region.

The Egyptian foreign ministry extended the country’s full support to Saudi Arabia against terrorism and its supporters. It also said that Egypt will back all measures Saudi Arabia takes in order to preserve its security, stability, and citizens’ safety from such cowardly and despicable attacks.

The Pakistani foreign ministry said: "These attacks threaten the peace and security of Saudi Arabia, as well as the region. We call for the immediate cessation of such attacks."

Pakistan reiterated its full support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen strongly denounced the attack.

In a statement on Monday, Al-Othaimeen said that the OIC expresses its support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to preserve its security and stability and the safety of its citizens and residents, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
