MANAMA —
Another cafe in Bahrain was closed and ordered to pay 2,000 Bahraini dinars (SR20,000 approximately) and its owner fined 1,000 Bahraini dinars for failing to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures, the Bahrain News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Inspectors reported the violations, and the case was referred to the court, the prosecution said.

Meanwhile, assistant undersecretary for public health at Bahrain’s Ministry of Health, and member of the national coronavirus taskforce, Dr. Mariam Al Hajri, has urged all citizens and residents to adhere to the guidelines and precautionary measures recommended by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus.

She emphasized that it is not possible to succeed in confronting the pandemic in light of any laxity or recklessness that may put the health of the community at risk.

She called on everyone to remain vigilant and cautious in order to maintain the continued success of the national efforts being exerted to limit the spread of the virus, noting that Bahrain has provided a pioneering model for an effective response to the pandemic on carefully studied and accurate bases, earning it wide international praise.

Dr. Al-Hajri urged to limit the size of gatherings at home and at outdoor spaces, avoid contacts, always wear face masks when outside the home, and adhere to all preventive and precautionary measures, as non-compliance poses a threat to everyone’s health.
