Single-day COVID-19 cases in KSA fall to another record low

RIYADH — Single-day coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia fell to another record low on Wednesday, with only 113 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The health ministry also reported 10 more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 to 6,204.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 362,601, and virus-related fatalities to 6,214.

The ministry also reported 170 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 353,682, with the recovery rate rising to 97.52 percent.

Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 44 cases, followed by the Makkah region with 18 and the Eastern region with 13 cases.

The Jazan and Al-Jouf regions reported just 1 infection each. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady fall in new infections, the active cases in the Kingdom also dropped to 2,705 out of which 387 were critical cases.
