RIYADH — Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC), received congratulations and felicitations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Dr. Thomas Bach, on Riyadh city being selected to play host to the Asian Olympic Games 2034.

Riyadh was named 2034 Asiad host during the meeting of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), recently held, at the Omani capital Masqat.

Bach remarked in his cable that the congratulations followed the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to play host to the games, for the first time in its history, reasserting that the occasion would be a differently looking feat, taking into consideration the gigantic projects Riyadh would entertain, in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030.

IOC will keep its close cooperation with the Kingdom, in this regard, notably under the vivid activity displayed by the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, recently, under the leadership of Prince Abdulaziz, Bach said. — SPA
