COVID-19 cases in KSA stay below 200 as single-day deaths fall to 12

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Tuesday 193 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking the third lowest single-day infections since April.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Kingdom reported the lowest single-day cases with 190 and 187 infections respectively.

The ministry also reported 12 more deaths from complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 359,115 and the deaths to 5,989.

The ministry also reported 246 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 349,414 with the recovery rate climbing to 97.30 percent.

Of the new cases, Riyadh region reported 53 cases, followed by Makkah region with 36 and Madinah region with 28 cases.

Al-Jouf and Hail regions recorded the lowest single-day number with three cases each. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the drastic drop in the number of daily cases and the steady rise in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 3,712 reported on Tuesday, and out of the total, 573 were critical cases.
