Turki Al-Shikh, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), launched on Wednesday a new initiative called “Ideas for Entertainment”.

The initiative is part of the GEA’s ongoing efforts to boost the entertainment sector in Saudi Arabia.

He urged all Saudis and expatriates who are interested in the entertainment industry to share their ideas and suggestions to make the entertainment sector more attractive, saying that the best 20 ideas will be rewarded.

Al-Shikhmade the remarks in a meeting with GEA employees during his visit to its headquarters here on Wednesday after returning from the United States after completing his treatment.

GEA chief lauded the great role all the authority’s employees played in the advancement of the entertainment sector and the efforts they made to place the Kingdom prominently on the global entertainment map.

Referring to the new initiative, he clarified that the ideas must be distinctive, qualitative and not duplicate ones. The ideas should also be worthy to be implemented. A video clip, containing the idea, may be mailed to idea@gea.gov.sa.

Al-Shikh underlined the importance of making concerted efforts to provide everything that serves the entertainment sector in the Kingdom, and work to overcome all difficulties companies operating in the sector face.
