Bahrain Cabinet lauds Saudi Arabia for holding successful G20 Summit despite big challenges

Bahrain’s Cabinet on Monday congratulated Saudi Arabia and its leadership on the success of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, the Bahrain News Agency reported.

In a virtual session chaired by Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is also the country’s prime minister, the Bahraini Cabinet lauded Saudi Arabia’s key role in facilitating multilateral dialogue and cooperation during a unique and challenging year.

At the beginning of the Cabinet meeting, the crown prince and prime minister delivered a speech, pledging his commitment to continue realizing Bahrain’s national objectives.

Prince Salman praised the “great contribution made by the later Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to the Kingdom’s national development”.

The Bahraini crown prince committed to reinforcing the principles upon which the government’s development efforts are founded, including ensuring responsiveness and excellence in government delivery, whilst fostering competitiveness and transforming “challenges into opportunities, and opportunities into achievements.”

He also outlined the government’s priorities in relation to the education system, housing for citizens, sustainable healthcare services, and efforts to increase economic growth and continue the fiscal balance program.

In his speech, the crown prince thanked all those who have contributed to Bahrain’s COVID-19 response, which has protected the kingdom and placed it at the forefront of country responses worldwide.

During the meeting, the Cabinet extended its appreciation to the international community, the Kingdom’s citizens and residents for their sincere condolences following the passing of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

A number of submissions, memorandums, and proposed laws were discussed during the Cabinet meeting.
