JEDDAH — The Netherlands has denounced the shooting targeting the Saudi Arabian embassy building in The Hague last week.

In a statement, the Dutch foreign ministry said it denounces and deplores the incident that occurred in The Hague last Thursday in which shots were fired at the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“It is essential for embassies and consulates in the Netherlands to be able to operate in safety. The Ministry appreciates the efforts of the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV), the police and the Public Prosecution Service, as well as the embassy’s excellent cooperation, which helped the police arrest a suspect the same day. The Ministry will continue to follow developments closely,” the statement added. — SG
