DHAHRAN — The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an affiliate of Saudi Aramco seeking to promote cultural development in the Kingdom, and Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) signed an agreement for joint cooperation to highlight the civilizational, artistic, and cultural landscape of mosques, which is a prominent feature of Islamic architecture.

The agreement included the loaning of 84 artifacts from the collections of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo for a period of two years.

Through this agreement, Ithra aims to consolidate cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, activate the communication that contributes to promoting pioneering and developmental growth between the two countries, enhance the cultural and civilization communication with the world, and contribute to creating a creative society that stimulates thinking on the Islamic culture with regard to mosques. — SG
