Saudi Arabia reports 435 coronavirus cases as recovery rate continues to rise

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded on Thursday 435 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, up 19 on Wednesday’s figure of 416, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Fifteen more patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, the ministry announced.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 346,482 and virus-related deaths to 5,363, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also reported 455 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 333, 005 with the recovery rate rising to 96.11 percent.

Once again all cities in the Kingdom recorded less than 50 new cases with Madinah reporting 47 followed by Makkah and Riyadh with 46 and Yanbu with 33 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.


According to the ministry's statement, a total of 58,561 coronavirus tests were conducted over the past 24 hours.

There are currently 8,114 active cases, out of which 776 are critical, the statement added.
