RIYADH — Arab Coalition forces successfully intercepted and destroyed on Sunday morning an armed drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Southern Region, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing a statement from the Coalition.

In the statement, the official spokesman for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said: “The Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this morning (Sunday) a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in (Najran).”

The terrorist Houthi militia had earlier launched bomb-laden drone on Saturday, Wednesday and on Tuesday, with the Coalition forces intercepting and destroying the drones.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen had praised the vigilance of the Coalition forces, which managed to intercept and destroy a drone in Yemeni airspace, while also condemning the repeated launch of the UAVs by the terrorist Houthi militia.
