King Salman, Crown Prince congratulate Egypt President on Oct. 6 anniversary

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, have congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on his country's Oct. 6 anniversary.

In their messages, King Salman and the Crown Prince wished the Egyptian president permanent good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity of the government and people of Egypt, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Oct. 6 is marked as Armed Forces Day in Egypt to celebrate the day in 1973 when combined Egyptian and Syrian military forces launched a surprise attack on Israel and crossed into the Sinai Peninsula, which marked the beginning of the October (Yom Kippur) War. — SG
