RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman sent messages to US President Donald Trump, wishing him a speedy recovery after he and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19, the Saudi press agency reported.

In his message, King Salman said: "I have been informed of the news that your highness and the first lady have contracted COVID-19. I wish both of you a speedy recovery, permanent health, and wellness."

In his cable, the Crown Prince also expressed his good wishes for the US president and his wife.

Trump confirmed early Friday that he had tested positive for coronavirus in an announcement.

The president revealed on Twitter in the early hours that he and first lady Melania Trump had contracted coronavirus, just two hours after revealing that close aide Hope Hicks had tested positive.

Trump added: “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”
