KSRelief donates PCR devices to Yemen health ministry to combat coronavirus

MARIB, Yemen — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) on Thursday handed over five polymerase chain reaction (PCR) devices to the National Program for Drug Supply at the Yemeni Ministry of Health to detect new cases of coronavirus in the country.

The devices will be used in Marib, Al-Mahrah, Shabwah, Socotra, and Al-Wadiah Port governorates, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The medical aid, which seeks to support and improve the capabilities of the Yemeni health ministry to confront the outbreak of the pandemic in the country, comes in the implementation of directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to stand with the countries affected by the pandemic.

The director of KSRelief in Marib Governorate, Abdul Rahman Al-Sairi, stated that these medical devices, supplies and solutions will help the health staff in Yemen address the pandemic more effectively, indicating that more aid will arrive during the coming period.
