Saudi Arabia reports 481 new COVID-19 cases as recovery rate mounts to 95.46

Daily coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia continued to remain below 500-mark, with 481 new infections reported on Friday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also announced 29 more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections and the virus-related death toll in the Kingdom to 335,578 and 4,823 respectively.

For the second time in several months, all major cities of the Kingdom reported less than 50 cases on Friday with Jeddah recording 40, Madinah 37, Hail 31, Riyadh 28 and Hafouf 27. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

With the steady drop in the number of new infections, active cases have also continued to drop sharply in the Kingdom with 10,407 reported on Friday out of which 970 are critical.

The ministry also announced that 602 more patients have fully recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 320,348, with the recovery rate touching 95.46 percent.
