MANAMA — In one of the most high-profile visits to Bahrain following the normalization of relations, Israel’s National Intelligence Agency (Mossad) Yossi Cohen arrived in the kingdom on Wednesday.

The Mossad chief met with his Bahraini counterpart Lt. Gen. Adel bin Khalifa Al-Fadhe and Bahrain’s Strategic Security Bureau chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.

Both security chiefs discussed topics of mutual interest and stressed the importance of the declaration supporting peace signed recently between Bahrain and Israel.

They said that the declaration would contribute significantly to enhancing stability and promoting the values of peace across the region, as well as opening up horizons of cooperation between the two countries, the Bahrain News Agency reported.

Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have recently signed historic agreements with Israel on Tuesday, in a ceremony overseen by President Donald Trump in the US capital and attended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and foreign ministers of Bahrain and the UAE. — Agencies
