MUSCAT — Oman on Tuesday recorded 528 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the Sultanate to 98,585, according to a statement from the country’s health ministry carried by the Oman News Agency.
The ministry also announced 11 more deaths due to complications caused by COVID-19, raising the total number of virus-related fatalities to 935.
A total of 294 more patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Sultanate to 88528, according to the ministry.
On Monday, Oman announced it will reopen mosques for prayers on Nov. 15 with strict precautionary measures to curb the spread of coronavirus, the ONA reported citing the Islamic affairs ministry as the Sultanate continues to ease COVID-19 restrictions in the country.
It has already set the date for the resumption of international flights from Oct. 1.
Public transport resumed on Sunday, and health authorities announced that sports activities could be held but without spectators last Thursday.
Oman lifted a night curfew in August and also opened some restaurants, gyms and swimming pools amid strict precautionary measures.
