Saudi Arabia reports 455 COVID-19 cases, 841 recoveries, 29 deaths

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Monday recorded 455 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 333,648 so far, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Twenty-nine more people have died from the complications caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the Kingdom’s death toll to 4,712, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, 841 infected patients have fully recovered from the deadly disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 317, 846, with the recovery rate hitting a whopping 95.26 percent, according to the ministry.

With the sharp drop in new infections, active cases have also drastically fallen with only 11,090 being reported on Monday, out of which 1,034 are critical.

Jeddah reported the highest daily cases with 52, followed by Madinah with 48, and Makkah with 35 infections. Riyadh, Hufof, and Damman recorded 33, 32 and 24 new cases respectively.

The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.
