UAE reports drop in COVID-19 cases with 626 new infections

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Monday recorded 626 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 92,095, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by the state news agency WAM.

The new patients, all of whom are all in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical treatment, were detected after the ministry carried out 76,888 additional COVID-19 tests in the country over the last 24 hours, using the latest testing methods.

The ministry also announced one COVID-19-related death, taking the country's death toll to 413.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished current COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery.

Meanwhile, an additional 918 individuals have recovered from the deadly virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 81,462, according to the ministry.

The ministry called on the public to cooperate with health authorities and adhere to social distancing protocols and preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of all.
