Female doctor suspended in Madinah for alleged dereliction of duty

RIYADH — Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah issued an order to suspend a female obstetrician and gynecologist working in a private hospital in Madinah from practicing the profession.

The spokesman of the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Madinah region said that the decision was taken in accordance with Article 39 of the Law of Practicing the Healthcare Profession.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Health will not be lenient in applying penalties against those who are negligent in adhering to the regulations and directives stipulated in the ministry’s rules in order to safeguard the health and safety of everyone.

The spokesman said that the decision to suspend the doctor would remain in force until the competent committee issues its ruling based on the recommendation of the committee formed by the Health Affairs Directorate in the region to examine the charges against her.
